A TALE OF SONG AND DANCE is an Afrofantasy comic book series set in a vast African empire untouched by European influence, where centuries of indigenous knowledge, spirituality, and innovation have shaped a civilization unlike our own.

At its heart is Buki, the celebrated Ìyánífá—Supreme Judge—of the metropolis of Oyo Ọkàn. Through sacred rituals that allow her to consult the spirit world, she delivers judgments believed to carry the authority of forces beyond the human realm. But when her final days in office expose something that should not be possible, Buki begins to question the institution she has devoted her life to—and discovers that the Empire's most sacred traditions may conceal a struggle for power reaching to the highest levels of society.

Blending political intrigue, spirituality, mystery, and Afrofuturist world-building, A TALE OF SONG AND DANCE explores the uneasy relationship between faith and power, and what happens when those entrusted to interpret the divine begin to question who is really speaking through them.
